Waka waka waka — Pac-Man's on Mars.
A "Pac-Man-like" formation was recently captured in an image by NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
The 1980's video game hero is actually a barchan sand dune nestled inside an impact crater.
Barachan sand dunes are common on Mars, NASA says, and often form vast fields within impact basins that can be as large of hundreds of kilometers.

They usually are seen as one travels downwind, and the upwind regions are usually free from such configurations.
But our favorite video game star is located nearly at the highest spot of a small crater.
NASA says that's a rare configuration, and over the next "few tens of thousands of years," the sand comprising his shape will be blown out of the crater.
So, alas, it seems the ghosts will win.
