NASA is getting ready for one hot mission.
The space agency is preparing to get closer to the sun than any other mission in history.
A robotic spacecraft called the Parker Solar Probe is set to launch in August.
It will get about 4 million miles from the sun.
To all of us who aren't space-smart that sounds pretty far, but a NASA scientist explained why it's pretty amazing.
"We going to be 4 million miles from the sun. And what it means is that if you think about the distance between Earth and the sun to be 100 yards, we're going to be, on a football field we're going to be at the four yard line," NASA planetary scientist Geronimo Villanueva said. "We're going to be very, very close. We're going to be actually touching the particles of the sun."
The mission's goal is to study the sun's atmosphere and solar wind.
The wind can affect the atmosphere here on Earth and our satellite communication.
