A pair of astronauts will embark on a seven-hour spacewalk Friday, the first spacewalk of 2019.
NASA said flight engineers Nick Hague and Anne McClain are scheduled to start their spacewalk at the International Space Station around 8:05 a.m.
They'll venture outside the station's Quest airlock to replace nickel-hydrogen batteries with newer, more powerful lithium-ion batteries on the ISS's orbiting laboratory.
NASA said this spacewalk, the first of three, is part of an overall upgrade of the International Space Station's power system.
